and make sign language a part of big events or conferences, amongst so many others. Since the needs are so many, it only makes sense that there be more than one type of interpretation.  Companies that have large-scale production facilities make extensive use of interpretation. They may source materials and have factories in China or have their team is from Eastern Europe, perhaps their Headquarters are in Latin America. Maybe the company is quite homogeneous but its main market is very niche or remote. In some cases, hiring a full-time translator could be costly, and hiring a translation service is the best way to go. The Three Main Types Of On-Site Interpretation Simultaneous Interpretation  It is considered simultaneous translation when the interpreter listens and renders the message in the target language at the same time as the speaker is speaking. It is typically used in conferences, live presentations, or time-sensitive situations.  Consecutive Interpretation  This is when the speaker speaks for a certain period (normally, no longer than 5-7 minutes) and takes a pause for the interpreter to render the message in the target language. This sequence is repeated along with the discourse. It could be very useful for meditating, for example, conversations between teams or clients, and often seen in conversations between world leaders.  Sight Interpretation  It is the oral rendition of a written text. It may take the form of subtitles, or an official document being shown live.  How frequently does one need interpretation?  In case you were wondering how frequently there is a need to translate or interpret, the Center for Immigration Studies reports that about 64.7 million residents in the U.S., native-born and foreign-born, speak a language other than English at home. And the highest percentage increases in speakers of other languages in the US from 2010 to 2015 were in Persian, Gujarati, French Creole, Chinese, Urdu, Hindi, and Arabic. Not to mention that there are more than one million speakers for each of these languages: Korean, Arabic, French, Vietnamese, Filipino, Chinese and Spanish.
